ABOUT

US

Impact Recovery Ltd. is an ACNC registered not for profit Public Benevolent Institution.

We hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, as a recognised welfare and charity organisation.

Impact Recovery is the only long term supervised residential drug and alcohol recovery service located in Bendigo providing the opportunity for change and hope for men and women 18+.

Impact Recovery operates on the belief that every individual deserves to live a life that maximises their potential restoring them to their life’s purpose.

The program seeks to empower people who are living in a cycle of addiction to lead a life of freedom, value and purpose, giving them the self-confidence to become contributing members of society.

Impact Recovery believes that the reasons a person has life controlling addictions are many, therefore the approach to recovery must be evidence based, trauma informed, person-centred and holistic.

This being the underlying foundation for recovery, the approach to our education and individualised support covers four main areas; biological, social, psychological and spiritual.

The program deliverables occur within a safe, structured and care managed environment, adopting an abstinence approach through the Therapeutic Community [TC] model, widely recognised globally as highly effective in the provision of peer support as a catalyst for choosing to live addiction free.

Our vision “Freedom from Addiction” is the goal of living well, through recovery, healing, pathways to participation and community.

WHAT IS AN ADDICTION?

An addiction is characterised by an individual repeatedly engaging in a certain type of behaviour, whether this is in relation to a substance or an activity, despite the harm that this causes.

This harmful behaviour is repeated because it results in pleasurable or valuable outcomes for the individual and ultimately, results in an emotional or physical dependence on the substance or activity.

Addictions can have an incredibly detrimental effect on a person’s quality of life, as well as their general health, wellbeing and mental wellness, and can result in a wide range of devastating, long-term physical and psychological problems.

OUR MODEL

The Why

Our model seeks to help any person suffering from drug and alcohol dependency, depression, eating disorders and other life-altering conditions on a supported pathway to “live well”.

We recognise that substance addictions, including alcohol and drug addictions, can have a profoundly negative impact on all areas of your life. This includes your ability to function on a daily basis, your interpersonal relationships, performance at work, and your physical and psychological health.

It is important to recognise that addictions are treatable, and the most important first step is to seek help. Your pathway of treatment and care is individually tailored to your personal needs and requirements, enabling us to provide the highest standards of care to you.

Our goal is to produce the best possible outcomes for you as an individual, and allow you to overcome your substance misuse or addictive behaviours.

The biggest “why” is – you matter!

We offer a range of programs to the community.

We are an organization that provides the highest quality services to make a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by alcohol and other drugs and other life-altering conditions.

HISTORY

Incorporation

Impact Recovery Ltd. (ABN 65 168 260 553) is an ACNC registered not for profit Public Benevolent Institution.

We hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, as a recognised welfare and rights organisation.

Impact Recovery Ltd. was incorporated in 2012, changing name in mid-2019 to reflect a renewed vision of recovery and freedom from addiction.

Location

Situated in Bendigo, Victoria, we are central to a rapidly growing region.

Our offices are situated in historic Temperance Hall, a significant building that strengthens the foundations of the current recovery and prevention sector.

Temperance Hall was the first centre for recovery and prevention, supporting affected people from the goldrush era. From the present to the now, the core principles established by the Temperance Hall community, continue.

It is by the generosity of Teen Challenge Victoria, entering an agreement of purpose November 2019, that we are fortunate to be able to carry on the tradition of intentional community care in a central location with this rich heritage.
